Until very recently I played for, and was Chairman of, both Tennis and for a short while the Tennis and Badminton Clubs in Harrietsham, near Maidstone, Kent England. I was very proud an honoured to be asked to Chair these two Clubs and have some very good memories and friends in Harrietsham. I set up www.harrietshamsport.co.uk for three main reasons as follows: 1. To provide a platform to promote Sport in Harrietsham and attract more players to both Clubs. 2. To provide a place where the Club organisers can communicate with the members, keep them informed of activities and spread the word about their successes. 3. To use the site as a fund raiser for Sport in Harrietsham. I am still keen to achieve all three even though I no longer live in the village or have time to play there. Fund raising for any sporting activity is crucial and I am keen to set up a scheme which will enable Companies offering facilities for Sport to promote themselves to visitors of harrietshamsport.co.uk. In return I would like them to either sponsor the site or donate a percentage of any business that comes from the site to Sport in Harrietsham. It is very rewarding when you help small clubs maintain and grow their membership, why not help your local Sporting groups grow and flourish. People need to maintain their fitness, sport is a very good way to do this.
